About the Role
The role is all about trees, with a focus on planning and delivery of tree planting programs, including tree species selection, street and reserve tree placement, works quality and compliance for tree planting and retention. This role includes a mix of field and office-based work, engaging with residents and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
Reporting to the Team Leader – Open Space & Tree Management the core responsibilities include:
* Plan, coordinate and deliver annual tree planting and establishment programs, including contractor oversight and community engagement
* Lead tree species selection, street and reserve planting design, and ensure quality and compliance of planting and retention works
* Contribute to strategic and operational documents, website content, and community communications
* Deliver actions and objectives under Shire strategies, including the Urban Forest Strategy
* Work both independently and collaboratively within the team, engaging with residents and internal/external stakeholders across field and office environments
About You
* Level 5 arboriculture qualification with relevant industry experience
* Experience in project management, planning, community engagement, or tree/urban forest projects
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to engage and influence stakeholders
* Proficiency with MS Office and information management systems (e.g., TechOne, tree databases)
* Understanding of government processes and vegetation legislation, with ability to comply with Council policies and privacy requirements
