About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and testing firmware for our control, sensing, and actuation systems, utilizing Xilinx Zynq + Embedded Linux platform. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with cross-functional teams, collaborating with research scientists to advance scientific understanding and demonstrate our technology in real-world settings.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and integrate embedded systems employed in Q-CTRL's quantum sensing and navigation systems targeting Xilinx SoC and STM32 platforms.
* Design, implement, and test control, sensing, and actuation firmware needed to autonomously operate next-generation quantum sensors.
* Contribute to the success of field trials with industry partners, creating test and simulation setups including hardware-in-the-loop test fixtures.
Requirements
* Experience working in a research environment, collaborating with established engineering teams and research scientists.
* Proficiency in systems programming languages such as C, C++, or Rust.
* Experience with hardware description languages (Verilog/VHDL) and creating embedded linux distributions using tools like Buildroot, Yocto, or Petalinux.
* Desirable experience with RTOS, interfacing with FPGAs, and qualifying/deploying systems for use in aircraft.
