About the Role The Manager Learning and Development (MLD) leads and delivers effective operational training to meet the capability requirements set by CFA's Chief and Deputy Chief Officers. This role ensures members build the skills necessary to safely and effectively perform their duties in the field. The MLD oversees operational training priorities across a Region and supports State-wide learning initiatives. Leading a team of training professionals, the MLD drives high-quality service delivery, ensures alignment with strategic goals, and fosters strong internal and external partnerships. Key responsibilities of the role will include the following: Leadership, Strategy, and Operational Management Team, Resource, and Budget Management State-wide Leadership and Quality Assurance Collaboration, Stakeholder Engagement, and Representation Process Improvement and Transformation Operational Support and Readiness Strategic Communication and Thought Leadership About You Our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following: Extensive experience and expertise in a training and development leadership role within a large organisation with a demonstrated capacity to function as a subject matter expert on a wide range of training and development themes and issues. A degree or postgraduate qualification in training, education and/or leadership is highly desirable. A strong knowledge in contemporary training strategy in large scale training delivery in a regionalised service delivery environment. Demonstrated understanding of the complexities associated with the delivery of training and development programs and projects to a large and diverse workforce (employee and volunteer), geographically dispersed. Demonstrated proficiency in training delivery, training development, facilitation, coaching and training needs analysis. A demonstrated record of achievement in consistently delivering on performance objectives at a high level. Experience influencing, developing and managing key partnerships with internal and external stakeholders in a complex organizational environment. Demonstrated track record in leading, motivating and developing high performing teams and experience in successfully managing multiple projects across geographically diverse stakeholders. Excellent business planning skills with experience managing and allocating significant resources, including finances, people, assets and infrastructure, to meet business objectives.
