About the Role:
Murri Sisters Mobile Support Service (MSMSS) is dedicated to reducing domestic and family violence (DFV) in our community.
MSMSS is a program of Five Bridges Ltd—an established not-for-profit organisation created from a passion to support local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in a hands-on, on-the-ground way that empowers our people and helps our communities rise and flourish.
MSMSS works in partnership with key stakeholders and service providers who respond to domestic and family violence. Our work is grounded in a cultural respect framework, maintaining strong connections to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander traditions, values, and homelands.
We deliver culturally safe, mobile support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women, their children, and young people experiencing domestic and family violence.
The Support Worker plays a vital role within the team—ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and practical needs of women and their children (both Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and non-Indigenous) are met with compassion, dignity, and cultural understanding while they engage with MSMSS.
About you:
To thrive in this role, you will have:
* Must identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
* Unrestricted QLD Driver's Licence
* Own reliable transport
* Current Blue Card (Working With Children)
* First Aid Certificate
* A qualification or current study toward Cert III/Diploma in Community Services (or similar)
* Strong commitment to supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women, children and families experiencing DFV and related risk factors
