The primary focus of this role is to be responsible for the operational management of the Unit on a day-to-day basis.
The Role
An opportunity has become available for an Associate Nurse Unit Manager (Perioperative Anaesthetics and Surgical Admitting Unit) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 13 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
* Apply high level clinical and managerial skills to a number of operational scenarios
* Support, guide, and direct staff to provide advance care
* Possess sound knowledge and the ability to apply relevant legislation, guidelines and standards
* Engage in work to problem solve and escalate as required with minimal supervision
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
* Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
* Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
* Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
* Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
* Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
* Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

* Base salary ranging from $124 991 – $127 616 per annum
About Us
The Perioperative Anaesthetics and Surgical Admitting Unit at Gold Coast University Hospital is a tertiary level peri-operative unit with the capacity to run 21 operating theatres including cardiac surgery and a trauma service.
The service offers elective and emergency surgery for a wide range of specialties working collaboratively with Robina Hospital operating theatres and Varsity Lakes Day Surgery Hospital, sharing resources and equipment as required to provide the best care possible for our patients. The service works closely with specialty clinical care co-ordinators to meet both elective and emergency surgery demands of the region.
