Play a key role in supporting the smooth and effective operation of Wodonga Council’s growing Kindergarten service. As Kindergarten Operations Coordinator, you’ll help ensure our services run efficiently by coordinating workforce planning, operational systems, and procedural improvements across multiple sites.
The position is a part‑time permanent role, 30.4 hours per week, with an hourly rate starting at $46.13 per hour plus superannuation. Great work‑life balance and flexible working options are available.
Key Aspects Of The Role
- Streamline and strengthen kindergarten operations: lead the development, review, and implementation of operational processes and procedural guidelines that keep our kindergarten programs running smoothly. Work closely with leaders and educators to ensure consistency, compliance, and continuous improvement across all sites.
- Support workforce and resource planning: collaborate with the Team Leader and Manager to coordinate workforce allocation and resource planning. Analyse enrolments, staffing levels, and service delivery needs to ensure programs are well supported now and into the future.
- Recruitment and staff support: assist with recruitment, onboarding, and induction of new kindergarten staff, ensuring a seamless start for every team member. Provide early intervention and wellbeing support, helping staff feel confident and cared for at work.
- Drive quality and compliance: monitor operational practices and documentation to align with legislative requirements and sector standards. Use your knowledge of early years frameworks to ensure we meet our obligations and continue to deliver safe, high‑quality services.
- Foster collaboration and communication: work closely with educational leaders, administration, and other internal stakeholders to maintain consistent communication and teamwork across sites. Be part of a supportive, values‑driven culture where innovation and learning are encouraged.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong experience in systems or business improvement, ideally within early years or other regulated environments.
- Sound understanding of workforce planning, rostering, and resourcing principles.
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
- Ability to interpret and apply early years legislation, frameworks, and quality standards.
- Strong organisational and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to manage competing demands.
- Relevant qualification (Degree or Diploma desirable).
