City Mission has introduced the Recycle Rewards scheme in Launceston and the North-West area by establishing automated depots capable of processing 12,000 containers per hour. The Recycle Rewards scheme aims to increase recycling rates and reduce litter by up to half across Tasmania by offering a 10c refund for returning eligible drink containers to designated refund points. This is a great opportunity for individuals who are passionate about sustainability, making a positive impact on the environment and their local community.
The Attendant Container Deposit Scheme supports daily operations at the depot, ensuring efficiency, customer satisfaction, safety, and compliance with policies to enable the depot to achieve desired sustainability, community and budgetary targets.
Operating: Tuesday - Saturday
Selection Criteria
Essential Qualifications/Experience:
- Experience in logistics, recycling, or customer service.
- Ability to operate machinery or learn quickly.
- Robust customer service, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and company policies.
- Commitment to improving operations over time.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety standards.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office).
- National Police Check required.
- Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) Card required.
- Valid Drivers licence and good driving record.
Desirable Qualifications/Experience:
- Experience working in an organisation with a Christian ethos.
- Positive attitude and adaptability to change.
- Physically able to handle manual tasks in a warehouse.
- Commitment to child safety and inclusion.
