What we're looking for
We're seeking an experienced and detail-driven professional to provide high-level project management, accounting and procurement support across Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) projects. You'll bring a solid understanding of funding compliance, financial management and procurement governance within a local government or similar environment, along with the confidence to work with senior leaders and external agencies. With strong analytical skills and a collaborative approach, you'll play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered within budget, meet eligibility requirements and comply with legislative, funding and audit standards. This role suits someone who enjoys working across technical detail and stakeholder engagement, thrives in complex environments and is committed to continuous improvement and quality outcomes.
What you'll be doing
* Acting as Council's primary contact with the Queensland Reconstruction Authority (QRA) for funding submissions, claims, reporting and acquittals
* Coordinating internal stakeholders across disaster management, finance, procurement, project delivery and governance teams
* Supporting procurement planning and delivery, including tender preparation, evaluations, contract negotiation and contract management
* Monitoring project expenditure, scrutinising costs for funding eligibility and ensuring compliance with DRFA and legislative requirements
* Preparing financial reports including budget vs actuals, cash flow forecasts, accruals and capital project reporting
* Maintaining project ledgers and supporting month-end and audit processes
* Managing risk, performance monitoring and reporting to senior management
* Liaising with auditors and funding bodies, responding to information requests and supporting audit outcomes
* Providing advice to project managers on costing, procurement and financial management
* Ensuring accurate recordkeeping in line with Council policies, funding and audit requirements
* Contributing to continuous improvement, strong customer service and positive team outcomes
