We are looking for passionate and dedicated Registered Nurses (1 Permanent Full Time & 2 Temporary Full Time) to join our Scrub & Scout Unit across the Randwick Campus Operating Suite.

The Role

The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality nursing care to patients/clients of the Prince of Wales Hospital (POWH) and Royal Hospital for Women (RHW) across the Randwick Campus Operating Suite consistent with SESLHD and POWH/RHW policies, procedures and standards.

Clinical supervision at the point of care is the role and responsibility of each Registered Nurse and within everyday clinical practice, in line with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council decision making frameworks for nurses and midwives.
All staff contribute to the Work Health Safety (WHS) and Injury Management (IM) planning and performance monitoring, review and continual improvement processes made at a local level and via the WHS consultation arrangements.

Where you'll be working
Prince of Wales Hospital and Community Health Service is a Level 6 Tertiary Referral Hospital with an inpatient bed base of 370. Each year we care for more than 70,000 patients in our Emergency Department and have around 50,000 admissions to the inpatient units. POWH offers an outpatient service and rural outreach service and provides more than 900,000 occasions of non-admitted patient care each year, including innovative virtual models of care. We have transitioned the majority of inpatient units and wards to the Acute Services Building (ASB) including a state of the art Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit. POWH provides an exceptional staff experience and enhanced patient and family outcomes as a result of the provision of person-centred care.

Selection Criteria
* Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia.
* Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills and the ability to identify key messages, issues and concerns when communicating with others.
* Demonstrated ability to proactively engage with patients/clients to enhance service delivery and to guide others in providing service excellence.
* Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and apply professional and ethical boundaries when dealing with complex situations.
* Strong computer skills and proven ability to use health information systems.
* Detailed knowledge and understanding of risk management, Work Health and Safety and quality principles and the role of the Registered Nurse in applying these principles.
* Recent postgraduate clinical scrub/scout experience an Acute Operating Theatre setting.
