Naval Architect
We are seeking a skilled Naval Architect to join our team in Melbourne. As a key member of the Design team, you will be responsible for designing vessels and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and a high level of commitment to assist with project design and implementation.
Key responsibilities include:
* Designing vessel structures, equipment foundations, hydrostatic and stability calculations, resistance, and powering calculations
* Preparing designs and drawings, including calculations and reports
* Selecting and requisitioning hull, fire, and safety equipment
* Designing in accordance with technical requirements and Austal processes
* Providing design support through production, commissioning, and delivery
Requirements:
* Hold a Construction Safety Induction (White Card)
* Bachelor's Degree in Naval Architecture
* Proven experience in vessel design and regulatory compliance
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, Maxsurf, and FEA software
* 5 years' experience in ship design and construction
* Experience in the design of naval platforms
