Applications are invited from suitably qualified medical/dental practitioners for the above position(s) in the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District. The position will be primarily located at Nepean Hospital within the Department of Intensive Care Medicine.
Successful applicants will be responsible for providing care to patients within the Intensive Care Unit on the Staff Specialist roster, ensuring safe, high quality patient care and participation in education and training as per departmental requirements.
The number of sessions will be in the form of a 9‐hour session / shift over a clinical week. The number of sessions is not guaranteed as the contract will be for Zero Hours. The appointed Medical Officer(s) will be allocated shifts on a need basis. Appointees may be eligible for credentialing and privileging across all other facilities in the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District.

Selection Criteria
* Possess or be eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* Possess Fellowship of the College of Intensive Care Medicine of Australia and New Zealand (CICM-ANZ) or equivalent as provided for in the Health Insurance Act 1997 and the Staff Specialists (NSW) Award. Evidence of Continuing Medical Education and self‐monitoring/audit practices consistent with the scope of practice requirements of the position.
* Sound clinical knowledge in Intensive Care Medicine demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position including evidence of participation in quality assurance activities relevant to the specialty.
* High level interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability working within a multidisciplinary team.
* Demonstrated commitment to teaching and junior medical staff supervision consistent with contemporary best practice supervision standards.
* Demonstrates the skills and attitudes appropriate for practice as a Senior Medical/Dental Practitioner including modelling of a high standard of professional behaviour to junior medical staff.
* Sound clinical knowledge in the subspecialty of Echocardiography demonstrated by relevant qualifications and/or appropriate post‐Fellowship clinical experience would be favourable but not required.
Conditions of appointment are in accordance with the Health Services Act 1997, and Public Hospitals (Visiting Medical Officers Sessional Contracts) Determination 2014.
Employees and Contractors must abide by the NSW Health Code of Conduct.
