About therole:
We arecurrently seeking casual Outreach Support Workers to join our teamin Rockhampton. Our Outreach Support Workers will provide respiteto carers by taking planned outings with young people (these shiftsare likely to take place in the afternoon or on the weekend). Aspart of the Residential Care team, shifts in our Residential Carehomes will also be available.
Whatwill a typical day look like?
* Provideopportunities for children and young people to develop andlearn life skills appropriate to their age andability.
* Support youngpeople in maintaining connections with family, culture,country, and community.
* Support youngpeople to develop safety, health, and wellbeingmeasures.
* Support social,recreational, educational and health activities for youngpeople in line with their individual care plan.
* Support youngpeople in accessing appointments (transport).
* Engagetherapeutically with young people.
MandatoryRequirements:
* Certificate IV inChild, Youth and Family Intervention/Community Services orequivalent or working toward this qualification (proof ofenrolment required).
* 1year relevant experience working with young people in out ofhome care or similar field.
Alternativequalifications or working towards:
* Certificate IVin Mental Health, Community Services or YouthWork
* Diploma inBehavioural Science, Counselling, Nursing or MentalHealth
