People and Culture Advisor (12-Month Parental Leave Cover)
Are you a proactive HR professional with a passion for driving people-focused initiatives? UAC is seeking a People and Culture Advisor to join our dynamic team for a 12-month parental leave cover. In this role, you will provide expert advice, lead key projects, and help shape initiatives that enhance employee engagement, leadership effectiveness, and organisational performance, with a focus on leveraging AI and digital tools to transform HR services
As a trusted advisor, you will be the first point of contact for staff and managers, providing guidance on HR programs, policies, industrial relations, and complex employee matters. You will also take a hands-on role in managing major People and Culture projects, including talent management, learning and development, safety and wellbeing, and supporting our ERP implementation, and exploring AI-enabled solutions to streamline processes and enhance decision-making.
Job Description
What you’ll do:
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the People Strategy, leading initiatives across recruitment, talent management, learning and development, WHS, and compliance.
- Provide expert HR advice and support to managers and staff on policies, procedures, UAC’s Enterprise Agreement, and industrial relations matters.
- Coach managers in complex people management issues, including performance, grievances, and investigations, working closely with external stakeholders when needed.
- Design, enhance, and deliver training and career development programs, including onboarding, induction, mentorship, and internship initiatives.
- Provide input to HR committees, including Enterprise Bargaining and Joint Consultative Committees.
- Identify and implement opportunities to streamline HR systems and processes, leveraging ERP, AI, and other technology to improve service delivery and employee experience.

- Demonstrated knowledge of HR functions, trends, and their value to the organisation.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet targets and deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle sensitive industrial relations and employee matters.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including policy development and engaging training delivery.
- Strong attention to detail, creative problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency with HRIS platforms and AI-enabled tools to enhance HR service delivery.
