ABOUT THE ROLE

Are you an experienced Employee Relations professional ready to make a meaningful impact? Norton Gold Fields is seeking a Senior ER/IR Specialist to provide expert onsite HR, industrial, and employee relations support across our mining operations.

In this pivotal role, you'll act as the key advisor to managers and employees on complex HR matters — from performance management, disciplinary processes, and investigations to enterprise bargaining and union engagement. You will lead ER/IR initiatives that promote a fair, compliant, and positive workplace culture while ensuring alignment with company strategy and the Fair Work framework.

KEY DUTIES AND TASKS

* Lead and deliver comprehensive ER and IR advisory services to all departments.
* Partner closely with operational and corporate leaders to align people strategies with business outcomes.
* Oversee complex workplace investigations, disciplinary processes, and grievance management with professionalism and confidentiality.
* Drive enterprise bargaining strategy and execution, including stakeholder engagement, negotiation, voting, and registration processes.
* Provide expert advice on employment law, Fair Work compliance, and industrial instruments.
* Manage relationships with unions, ensuring constructive dialogue and resolution of workplace issues.
* Develop and review HR policies, contracts, and procedures to ensure best practice and legal compliance.
* Mentor and guide HR Advisors and site-based HR representatives to build internal capability.
* Generate and interpret HR metrics to identify trends, recommend interventions, and support organisational improvement.
* Champion a culture of respect, accountability, and continuous improvement across all levels of the business.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

* Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Law, or a related discipline.
* 5+ years' experience in ER/IR roles within the mining or heavy industry sectors.
* In-depth knowledge of the Fair Work Act and the Australian industrial relations framework.
* Proven record in handling complex employee relations, investigations, and enterprise agreements.
* Exceptional stakeholder management, influencing, and communication skills.
* Sound understanding of HR systems and Microsoft Office applications.
* Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on within a fast-paced operational environment.
