About The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Training Advisor to join the newly formed Queensland Training team. Based at our Brisbane Office and working closely with group and site HSE and Training functions, the Training Advisor (Mine Operations) is responsible for developing and maintaining our Open Cut Coal training materials. This role is based at the Whitehaven Brisbane Office, Creek Street, and reports to the Project Manager – QLD Training.

What You’ll Do
1. Utilise various learning delivery methods to build best practice materials – eLearning, Face-to-face and Blended.
2. Work closely with our group and site teams to design effective training programs for site requirements (E.g., authorisation and appointments, SOPs, SWIs) and identify opportunities for improvement.
3. Develop and maintain new and existing training resources mapped to the endorsed components of the Resources and Infrastructure Industry (RII) training package.
4. Upgrade existing training resources related to Open Cut Coal Operations to meet industry requirements.
5. Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE, TAE, TAE) or Higher Qualification in Adult Education.
6. High Level of Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Articulate Suite, and Adobe Photoshop (desired)
What You’ll Bring
7. Proficiency in developing training materials to meet the endorsed components of the RII Training Package.
8. Proven ability to design, deliver, and evaluate training programs using various instructional techniques and technologies.
9. Strong knowledge of Mine Training Needs Analysis and competencies within open-cut coal mining environments.
10. Detail-oriented, strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
11. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage at all levels.
12. Strong knowledge of how regulatory standards (E.g., Orders and Recognised Standards) apply to mining operations.
13. Strong knowledge of the interrelated nature of training and Safety and Health Management Systems.
