The Stawell Harness Racing Club is a proud regional venue known for delivering outstanding racing events and quality dining experiences at our Trackside Bistro.
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Chef to join our team and help us continue providing exceptional service to our patrons.
Key Responsibilities
Design and plan seasonal, event-specific, and regular menu.
Estimate ingredient and staffing costs and coordinate procurement of fresh food supplies.
Oversee food preparation to ensure consistency, presentation, and quality of all dishes.
Liaise with Managers, Dietitians, and service staff regarding menu adjustments and dietary requirements.
Demonstrate and train junior staff in professional cooking techniques and kitchen procedures.
Prepare and cook a wide range of menu items, maintaining high dining standards.
Ensure compliance with hygiene, food safety, and sanitation regulations.
Support selection, induction, and skill development of junior kitchen staff.
Manage proper freezing, storage, and preservation of food items.
Minimum requirements
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a similar hospitality or bistro setting.
Diploma in Hospitality Management (or equivalent qualification).
Strong leadership and time management skills.
Passionate about quality food and excellent service.
