Job Opportunity
An opportunity for a qualified Mechanic to join a top tier employer in our growing team and work with us in achieving our goals.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain modern fleet of trucks and trailers.
* Servicing and repairs of fleet equipment in accordance with maintenance schedules, manuals, manufacturers specifications, NHVAS and truck safe requirements.
* Ensure Directhaul equipment is maintained and presented to the highest possible standard.
* Maintain high safety standards within the workshop areas, including policing of unauthorized entry and the use of sources of ignition within the designated areas.
* Report to Workshop Supervisor/Workshop Manager regarding all maintenance and workshop related procedures, non-conformances and/or safety matters.
* Accurately complete servicing and repair paperwork in accordance with Directhaul Maintenance guidelines.
* Compliance with all company policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
* Attend and actively participate in Pre-Start Meetings, Toolbox meetings and risk assessments.
* Develop positive relationships with team and customers.
* Follow instructions from Workshop Manager/Workshop Supervisor for daily duties and workloads.
* Take reasonable care and personal responsibility for your own health and safety.
* Co-operate with any policy or procedure relating to health, safety or environment at the workplace that has been notified to you.
* Ensure vigilance and awareness of your workplace to ensure that any hazards, incidents, accidents or near-misses are reported to your supervisor.
Qualifications
* Heavy automotive trade certificate.
* Qualified Mechanic and sound mechanical knowledge.
* Experience in servicing and preventative maintenance.
* Driver's Licence.
* HR/HC Licence and fuel maintenance knowledge (desirable).
* Previous industry related experience in transport and/or mining industry (desirable).
* Ability to work with minimal supervision.
* Maintain a high standard of work ethic.
* Demonstrate attention to detail.
* Experience servicing and maintenance of heavy vehicle trucks and trailers (desirable).
* Knowledge of working to outlined servicing and maintenance schedules.
* The role will manage the maintenance of the region's fleet vehicles, inclusive of callouts for asset breakdowns and possible interstate fleet maintenance.
* The role may require interstate travel, between workshops to temporally fill vacant roles.
