We are working with a leading product development company that creates smart products for a range of consumer products, and industrial/robotics applications. We are seeking a Lead/Principal-level Electronics Engineer to join their team, playing a pivotal role driving architectural decisions and providing hands-on technical guidance across projects with a strong focus on power electronics.
About the role
As a Lead Electronics Engineer, you will be the driving force behind the design, development, and delivery of advanced electronic systems. This is a hands-on role for an experienced engineer who can balance strategic architectural design with practical, detailed execution. You will have a high degree of ownership and accountability, working across the entire product lifecycle from concept to production. You will also mentor and guide other engineers, contributing to a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
The team will rely on you to:
* Lead the design and development of complete electronics systems, including high-speed digital and analog circuits, with a strong focus on power management.
* Architect and deliver robust power regulation, distribution, and battery management systems.
* Drive schematic capture and PCB layout, applying best-in-class practices for signal integrity, grounding, and manufacturability (DFM).
* Conduct in-depth circuit analysis and debugging, with a particular focus on complex system-level problems and root cause analysis.
* Oversee the transition of new products from R&D into high-volume manufacturing.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical, embedded software, and industrial design, to ensure seamless system integration.
* Lead design reviews and mentor junior engineers, championing a culture of continuous improvement.
Ideally you have:
* 10+ years of professional experience in electronics engineering, with a proven track record of designing and delivering commercially successful products.
* Extensive experience with the design of electronics PCBAs and hardware (digital, analog, high speed, RF, power, motor control, etc.).
* Strong proficiency with PCB design software (Altium is preferred).
* Comprehensive hands-on experience in circuit analysis, debugging, and validation using tools like oscilloscopes, logic analysers, and simulation software.
* Experience with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT).
* A strong understanding of power regulation, switching power supplies, and battery-driven systems.
* A Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical, Electronics, or a related engineering discipline.
Bonus points if you also have:
* Proven expertise in designing complex power systems for battery-driven and high-current applications.
* Firmware development experience (in C, C++, Rust, or Python).
* Experience with wireless protocols (e.g., Bluetooth, Wi-Fi).
What's next
If you are a driven and experienced Electronics Engineer looking to lead transformative projects with a focus on power electronics, and you are passionate about building products that make a positive impact, we encourage you to apply. We will be reviewing applications over the coming weeks, and contacting shortlisted candidates for a phone screen before interviewing with the client.
