The Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission (the Commission) was formed on 1 January 2019. We work to improve the lives of older people by maintaining the integrity of the aged care system.

As the single independent regulator of Australian Government aged care services, we offer a variety of interesting and challenging jobs across most capital cities.

About the Team

The Enterprise Performance, Assurance and Risk section is responsible for developing, embedding, and refining the Commission's Performance, Audit and Assurance, and Risk frameworks, policies, and procedures to support the achievement of strategic goals and compliance with the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 (PGPA Act). The EPAR section:

* coordinates corporate planning and reporting activities, with a particular focus on the development and delivery of the Commission's Corporate Plan, Performance Measures and Annual Performance Statements and Annual Report
* promotes a culture of continuous performance improvement and transparent reporting
* ensures the effective identification and management of enterprise risks
* ensures quality assurance
* ensures delivery of appropriate education, training, and communication on key governance, audit and quality assurance and risk matters within its functional remit

The EPAR team monitors and reports against all related governance accountabilities and statutory compliance obligations at an entity level. It works with relevant business areas to ensure adequate internal controls are in place and any improvement/rectification plans are developed and enacted.

About the Role

The purpose of this position is to support the coordination and reporting of the Commission's approach to Enterprise Risk Management Framework to ensure the active monitoring of the Commission's risk appetite and management as an organisation. Successful candidates will also be provided with ongoing opportunities to contribute to section priorities on audit, assurance and performance reporting, as required.

Position Duties

* Contributing to the development and maintenance of an appropriate suite of plans, frameworks, policies and procedures which support the effective delivery of functions for which the team is responsible.
* Support the development and management of the Chief Risk Officer advice function.
* Support continuous improvement by providing observations and recommendations for the development and uplift of processes and tools that support strong risk governance practices.
* Demonstrate accuracy and efficiency, with the ability to prioritise and manage own workload.
* Provide high level administration by utilising technology applications and systems confidently to deliver efficient and effective service. Applications include SharePoint, SAP, ConnX and MS Office/Teams.
* Accurate record keeping and documentation to support advice and/or decisions.
* Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders, including Assistant Directors and Executive Staff support.

Position Eligibility Requirements (Selection Criteria)

To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following:

* Sound knowledge, or ability to quickly obtain knowledge, of Commonwealth entity obligations under the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 (PGPA Act) and Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Rule 2014 (PGPA Rule).
* Demonstrated ability to effectively manage interpersonal relationships with respect and communicate with influence with a range of stakeholders and team members to manage expectations and achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
* Developed computer literacy skills, including the capacity to effectively learn and utilise Microsoft Office/Teams and other professional applications.
* Demonstrated organisational skills, including the capability to plan and prioritise work tasks, and manage concurrent activities in order to meet deadlines.
* Problem solving skills, including the capacity to interpret procedures, and exercise initiative, judgement and discretion, when appropriate.
* Sound analytical, interpretive and problem-solving and dispute resolution skills.
* Demonstrated verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively as part of a team with limited supervision.

Position Notes

* Salary offered will be between $89,135 - $96,829 per annum depending on skills and experience. In addition, 15.4% superannuation will be paid.

* Non-ongoing opportunity will be offered for an irregular/intermittent term. Opportunities will be offered for varying periods up to 12 months with the option to extend to a total of 24 months.
