What is our Staff Development Nurserole?
This role under thedirection of the relevant Senior Registered Nurse(s) practises as aStaff Development Nurse in keeping with the Australian Nursing andMidwifery Board Registration Standards and Nursing PracticeDecision Flowchart. The role includes ongoing assessment of theknowledge and skills of nursing staff in designated ward/unit;planning and implementation of education and training programs andparticipation in the planning and implementation of hospital wideStaff Development programs; provision of support for new staff,including orientation, coachingand preceptorship; provides clinicalknowledge and expertise within the clinical areas; upholdsand functions within the core values of the organisation andnursing values of Care, Respect, Innovation, Teamwork &Integrity.

Area Profile
Ward G63 is a30-bed inpatient unit providing comprehensive care for patientswith a diverse range of acute and chronic conditions across thespecialties of renal medicine, hepatology, gastroenterology, andgeneral surgery. The ward delivers a combination of acute medical,surgical, and high complexity specialty care, supporting patientsthrough both planned and emergency presentations. Ward G63 holds asignificant statewide role, providing the state-wide livertransplant service and performing the majority of kidneytransplants within Western Australia. This positions the ward as aleading centre for complex transplant care, supporting patientsacross the full continuum from pre transplant optimisation to postoperative recovery and long-term management.
