Reporting to the ANZ General Counsel, the Legal Manager will provide strategic employment law advice for PepsiCo's Foods and Beverages businesses and deliver comprehensive commercial legal support across the ANZ Foods portfolio.
Job Overview
Provide expert legal support across employment and commercial matters for the ANZ business (Foods and Beverages), with a focus on employment law advice, workplace relations, and commercial contract negotiation.
Responsibilities
* Provide timely, pragmatic legal advice on employment and workplace relations matters, including performance management, disciplinary actions, grievances, and complex workplace investigations.
* Support and attend reconciliation meetings, mediations, and settlement negotiations.
* Advise on employment contracts, policies, and compliance with Australian employment legislation and modern awards.
* Assist with the management and resolution of employment disputes, including Fair Work Commission matters.
* Support the EHS team on safety and environmental matters and advise on quality related matters.
* Draft, review, and negotiate a range of commercial agreements, including procurement, supply, distribution, and services contracts.
* Advise on contract interpretation, risk allocation, and dispute resolution.
* Support commercial projects and initiatives, collaborating with procurement, operations, and other business functions.
* Act as the primary legal contact for all Quaker Oats business and operational matters in ANZ.
* Provide legal training and guidance to business stakeholders on relevant legal topics (e.g., employment law, contract law, Anti‑Bribery, compliance).
* Manage external counsel as required, ensuring cost‑effective and high‑quality legal services.
* Contribute to continuous improvement of legal processes, operations and templates.
Qualifications
* Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD) and current Australian practising certificate.
* 4‑6 years post‑qualification experience in employment and commercial law.
* Demonstrated experience advising on employment law, workplace relations, and commercial contracts.
* Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and engage confidently with stakeholders at all levels.
* High attention to detail, sound judgment and a pragmatic, solutions‑focused approach.
* In‑house experience and exposure to FMCG sectors will be preferred.
