The Opportunity
Lithgow City Council has an exciting opportunity for a MR Tar Truck Driver to join their team in Lithgow, NSW. Reporting to the Urban Works Coordinator, the MR Tar Truck Driver plays a vital role in the ongoing maintenance of the urban bitumen patching and is responsible for the safe operation of Council's Flow Con. The position will also be required for duties relevant to Council's operations according to the work instructions requested by the Urban Overseer.
More specifically, your duties will include (but will not be limited to):
* Maintaining the Tar Truck with daily checks, safety checks, oil and coolant checks, securing loads and equipment.
* Cart loose materials, prepare for loading, transport material and dispatch coldmix/hotmix material.
* Operate Flow Con with the tar patching unit in a safe manner and in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications and recommendations.
* Set up Traffic Procedures by setting up correct Traffic Control on worksites in accordance with Traffic Control Plans
* Other duties as directed by the supervisor.

About You
The successful candidate will meet the following criteria:
* MR Truck Licence
* WHS General Induction for Construction Certificate (White Card)
* Traffic Control Stop/Slow (Blue Card)
* Willingness to undertake additional training
* Demonstrated experience in Truck Driving
* Commitment to Work Health and Safety
* Demonstrated commitment to the principles of honesty and integrity
In addition, an ideal candidate would have experience in the operation of bitumen patching unit, Traffic Control (Apply Traffic Control Plans, Yellow Card) and Traffic Control (Select/Modify Traffic Control Plans, Red Card).
