A position has become available for a Broiler Service Person in the Tamworth broiler division. This position is reporting to the Broiler Manager. We require a highly motivated and responsible person to provide technical advice to the local contract broiler farms.
The position of Broiler Service Person is to ensure the efficient and effective operation of contract broiler farms to supply the needs of the processing plant.
The operation of the broiler farms involves receival of day olds, grow out, pick up and cleanout, maintenance of farm and shed equipment, meeting customer quality requirements and meeting legislative and regulatory requirements related to the operation of broiler farms.
Key responsibilities (but not limited to):
* Achieve maximum production from livestock
* Implement and work to company MOS (minimum operating standards), quality, safety and environmental standards.
* Communication effectively with contract growers, company staff and management.
* Work towards continual improvement by the ability to analyze and solve problems and implement solutions
* Training of contractors and company staff as applicable.
* Be on call and available as required.
Required Skills (but not limited to):
* Extensive experience in animal husbandry, particularly with livestock poultry with a sound commitment to the welfare of the stock
* Good communicator.
* Good leadership skills including conflict resolution and problem solving.
* A knowledge of Quality Systems, WHSE procedures and good understanding of how day to day activities could impact on the Animal Welfare, Biosecurity and Environment
* Current driver's license.
