Focus of the Role
An excellent opportunity has become available for a highly motivated and passionate IT Technical Expert for Juniper Network Equipment with skills in Unix Admin technologies in the Telstra Defence Operations, Data Centre Operations Team. You will have the opportunity to further develop your skills in a non-production environment.

Your Responsibilities
 * We are looking for a Technical Expert to support the operations and maintenance of the Telstra Defence Terrestrial Communications Network (DTCN). Specifically, the Datacentre based compute, operating system, network and management application stacks.
 * This role can be based in Canberra, Melbourne, Brisbane or Sydney, Australia. This is an office-based role with scheduled RDOs available.
 * The Data Centre Operations Team supports both the production and pre-production environments for the Defence Terrestrial Communications Network.
 * Your primary focus would be on the operations of the production environment, with opportunities to work on the Defence Canberra Integration Laboratory (pre-production and integration) to prepare solutions for deployment into production.
 * In this role your focus will be on Network Administration and basic Unix administration and you will work with technologies such as VMWare Virtualisation, Windows Server versions, F5 Load Balancers, HP Compute.
About You
 * Hold a minimum of NV1 AGSVA security clearance
 * Experience in Security Management and Project Management
 * Demonstrated experience with ITIL Service Management - Fault, Problem, Request, Change and Asset Management
 * Proven ability with recovering from setbacks and are a self-starter
 * Proven ability to administer Juniper network equipment
 * Ability to administer RHEL UNIX systems
Please note all candidates must be Australian Citizens and hold a minimum of NV1 AGSVA security clearance to be considered. This role will require you to gain or hold and maintain a Negative Vetting 2 (NV2) security clearance.
