Nepean Hospital is a teaching hospital that provides tertiary referral services in emergency care, coronary care, diagnostics, gynaecology, paediatric, neonatal intensive care/ICU, maternity, mental health, rehabilitation, and surgery. The Nepean Campus has recently experienced tremendous growth and aims to support communities within and outside of Sydney’s western suburbs, providing world-class clinical facilities, services, and care.

Nepean Hospital is one of NSW’s busiest and most diverse Maternity services, providing high-quality, woman-centred care to a rapidly growing community. Our modern facilities include a Birth Unit, Midwifery-led models of care, Antenatal and Postnatal services, and access to Neonatal ICU.

We are expanding our Casual Midwifery Pool and are seeking passionate, dedicated Registered Midwives who are committed to providing exceptional care to women, babies and families across the continuum of maternity services.

As a member of the casual pool, you will have the flexibility to work across a variety of Midwifery settings based on service needs and your clinical experience. This is a fantastic chance to balance your lifestyle while contributing to a high-performing team and maintaining your clinical skills in a supportive environment.

Areas may include: Antenatal Clinic, Birth Unit, Postnatal Ward, Midwifery Assessment Unit and Midwifery-led models of care (as appropriate).

You will bring to this role the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, excellent communication skills and a commitment to woman-centred, culturally safe care and flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including days, nights, weekends and public holidays.

What you will bring to the role:

- Current registration as a Registered Midwife Division 1 with AHPRA.
- Demonstrated experience and clinical skill in Midwifery.
- Demonstrated capacity to provide effective nursing/midwifery care that is person centred, family inclusive and culturally sensitive to people accessing health services.
- Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work.
- Demonstrated effective communications written and verbal skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development.
- Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Ability to work a flexible roster, day evening or night shift across all days of the week according to the unit or team requirements.
