Rainforestation Nature Park, part of the locally owned CaPTA Group, is seeking engaging Rainforest Adventure Guides to deliver memorable, safe and informative experiences across our rainforest tracks and waterways using historic amphibious Army Duck vehicles.

Classification: Amusement, Events & Recreation Award 2020 — Grade 2, progressing to Grade 3 upon completion of training, with applicable penalty rates and allowances
Availability: Flexibility during peak tourism periods (weekends, public holidays and school holidays); occasional support for the local Kuranda Shuttle Run (Tropic Wings) as required

The opportunity
As a Rainforest Adventure Guide, you will lead safe, enjoyable tours that showcase our environment and history.
Key responsibilities
* Guided tours & commentary: Deliver engaging, clear and accurate commentary on flora, fauna, ecology, history and cultural context; tailor content to diverse audiences.
* Vehicle operation & safety: Operate Army Duck vehicles in line with procedures and Queensland safety requirements; complete pre‑departure checks, passenger briefings and post‑tour protocols.
* Guest care: Ensure comfort, manage boarding and seating, respond to queries, and resolve issues early with a calm, professional approach.
* Presentation & upkeep: Assist with basic vehicle presentation, cleanliness and equipment checks; report defects promptly.
* Operational support: Coordinate timings with admissions/operations; assist with the Kuranda Shuttle Run on occasion, subject to licence and Driver Authorisation requirements.

What you'll bring
* Confident public speaking & storytelling: You enjoy engaging groups and can adapt your style for families, international visitors and all ages.
* Safety mindset: You follow procedures, conduct clear safety briefings and prioritise passenger wellbeing.
* Licences & clearances:
* Light Rigid (LR) Driver's Licence and Driver Authorisation (DA) for public passenger services, or willingness to obtain.
* Working with Children Check (Blue Card) prior to commencement.
* Pre‑employment Drug & Alcohol screening.
* Professionalism: Reliable, positive and comfortable working outdoors in varied weather.
* Local knowledge: Familiarity with Tropical North Queensland ecology, wildlife and culture is beneficial; training provided.
* Teamwork & problem‑solving: You collaborate well, stay composed under pressure and close the loop on guest issues.

Employment conditions
Remuneration and entitlements align with the Amusement, Events & Recreation Award 2020, including penalty rates and allowances. Rosters and breaks will be managed in accordance with the Award and Queensland employment law.
