**Your recent role**
Working closely with the Finance, Information Services and Support & Employee Engagement teams, this role will see you utilise your exceptional organisational skills and broad payroll knowledge to assist with the implementation of a contemporary fully automated and integrated payroll solution. You will also be responsible for over-seeing the day-to-day processing of the existing payroll.
Responsibilities will include:
- Delivery of the monthly and fortnightly payroll
- Developing a deep and broad understanding of the EE and Payroll requirements of the School (4 campuses) and its circa 430 permanent and 300 casual employees (including Award and Enterprise Agreement requirements).
- Develop, own and implement the project plan to support the transformation of current processes within Payroll
- Map the as-is processes and identify the core to-be processes to support an integrated, automated and contemporary Payroll solution.
- Work collaboratively across all employee groups within the school to implement the required changes
- Other duties as requested by the Associate Director of Finance.
**What you'll need to succeed**
To be considered for this role, you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in accounting or finance
- Demonstrated experience in a payroll function
- Project Management/Coordination experience (documentation creation/UAT Test scripts)
- Knowledge of payroll and HR function concepts (leave accruals, overtime, Award and Agreement interpretation etc.)
- Knowledge and experience with a variety of payroll systems
- A natural problem solver with a passion for process improvement and automation
- Exceptional attention to detail and time management
- High level of administrative and organisational skills
- Well-developed report writing skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to liaise and collaborate with people at all levels within the organisation, including external services providers.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook (knowledge of the Synergetic database would be an advantage but is not essential)
- Ability to work as a member of a team and independently without supervision.
- An ability to plan and prioritise the workloads of staff to delegate and adjust schedules to meet service demands and deadlines.
