What we are looking for:
Due to internal progression, we're looking for a Senior Technical Officer to join our Parks Technical team. A varied and interesting position, you'll play a critical role in the overall success of our Open Space & Environment department.
What your day will look like:
Leading a small dynamic team, you'll work with our operational delivery areas and leadership team to develop and maintain our technical systems and processes. Your role is crucial in supporting the sustainable and efficient delivery of our Open Space and Environment business into the future.
 * Supporting the continued implementation of a works management system across the business unit ensuring accuracy, consistency, and data based decision making;
 * Ongoing maintenance of corporate spatial GIS and asset data;
 * Leading the delivery of service and maintenance contracts;
 * Assisting development of long term asset management processes;
 * Contributing to development of Councils capital investment plans;
 * Assisting to ensure Open Space and Environment outcomes align to Councils Corporate and Operational Plans, supported by Councils Park Strategy 2041.

What you'll need for success:
 * Experience with technical systems including works management systems, GIS, and asset management
 * Experience with end-to-end contract delivery for service and maintenance activities
 * Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data
 * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
 * An understanding of the operational requirements of our Open Space & Environment teams
What's nice to have:
 * Local government operational experience in a parks and open space or related field.
