**The Role**
A unique opportunity for an Assistant Designer to join our close-knit Kidswear Design team. This is a chance to gain experience across multi categories and brands whilst working within a friendly, supportive and creative team environment.
Some other responsibilities would include:
- Extensive product research of competitors, overseas and local retailers
- Oversee all fabric and trim submissions with the Designer, communicate comments with key stakeholders
- Assist the Designer with technical set up of styles and handover to vendors
- Perform design briefs as directed by Designer through research, preparation and maintenance of range boards and sample management
- Attend fit sessions with the Designer and Garment Technologist
- Ensuring design development of range and handover are completed in line with the business critical path.
- Attending and participating in team meetings
- Supported to learn and develop skills set within the team framework
**About you**
To be successful in this role, you will be passionate about deliver amazing customer experiences through the products you design
- 1-2 years experience in a similar role
- Bachelor's degree or similar in fashion design
- Competent in Adobe Creative suite, especially Illustrator
- Design Assistant experience within a retail organisation an advantage
- Organised with attention to detail and the ability to coordinate multiple concurrent tasks/activities
- A confident, proactive approach capable of working effectively in a team within a fast-paced environment
