Your new role: As a Senior Social Worker - Complex Mortality & Bereavement Support Officer, you will provide specialist Social Work expertise within the Clinical Governance Unit, supporting complex mortality, coronial and bereavement care, by: * Delivering advanced, evidence-based Social Work assessment, intervention and advice within an interprofessional team * Acting as a clinical reference point for complex mortality and deceased patient management matters * Providing specialist support to bereaved families, including coronial processes, funeral arrangements and complex family dynamics * Liaising with key external stakeholders such as the Coroners Court of Queensland, Queensland Police Service, Public Trustee and Funeral Directors * Supporting mortality review, patient safety processes, Ryan's Rule and Open Disclosure activities * Contributing to service development, quality improvement, education and clinical governance initiatives * Providing supervision, education and support to less experienced clinicians, students and Allied Health Assistants About you: You are an experienced and compassionate Social Worker with strong clinical judgement and a commitment to quality and patient-centred care, with: * Demonstrated high-level expertise in delivering complex Social Work services within a health or clinical governance environment * Strong knowledge of mortality, bereavement, coronial and deceased patient management processes * Proven ability to work autonomously, prioritise complex workloads and manage sensitive situations * Excellent communication skills, including the ability to engage effectively with families, clinicians and external agencies * Experience providing supervision, education and clinical support to staff and students * A commitment to service improvement, evidence-based practice and continuous professional development Check out our quick tips and application essentials!
