About the Role

We're looking for Residential Support Workers to join our Kununurra team in casual roles. In this rewarding position, you'll work within a team to provide a safe and respectful home environment for up to four young people at a time. You'll play an active part in helping them achieve personal goals, meet bail conditions, and make positive life choices through structured, strengths-based programs.

You'll also help facilitate activities, provide supervision, support family visits, and act as a positive role model while ensuring the home is clean, welcoming, and supportive.

You'll Need

* Minimum Certificate III in Community Services, Youth Work, AOD or 1+ years of relevant experience
* Experience working with young people, particularly those with complex needs or challenging behaviours
* Confidence engaging with Aboriginal young people and understanding of cultural considerations
* Strong communication and problem-solving skills
* Ability to support meal preparation, maintain a safe living space, and facilitate recreational activities
* Computer literacy for documentation and reporting
* A strong commitment to working within professional boundaries

Desirable skills:

* Experience or training in trauma-informed care, FASD, or mental health first aid (or willingness to undertake training)
* Hobbies and practical skills to share with young people (e.g., cooking, woodwork, gardening)
* Knowledge of youth justice and social issues impacting young people

Mandatory clearances:

* Current National Police Check (within 3 months)
* Working With Children Check
* Current C or A class driver's license
* First Aid Certificate (we will assist with this if you don't have a valid cert)
* Department of Justice clearance (6 week process)
* Australian residency or valid working visa
