About the Role
To assist CIHE in achieving its educational objectives and to deliver quality education and research in accordance with academic policies and discipline-specific professional standards. We are seeking a Senior Lecturer (preferred) or an experienced Lecturer in Information Technology for our Perth campus.
The ideal candidate will bring strong Australian higher-education teaching experience, demonstrated academic leadership, and expertise in key IT domains including Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, and Cybersecurity. Experience supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students is essential.
Key Responsibilities
In collaboration with key personnel, and as an integral part of the academic team, each Lecturer is responsible for developing teaching resources to support effectiveness in learning and assessment; managing all aspects of the learning environment and providing a range of academic support services to ensure that students achieve expected unit and course learning outcomes.
Operating within the overall plans, objectives and policy framework of CIHE each Lecturer will:
1. Although each candidate will have a specialisation with the ICT area, s/he will be able to teach across any ICT subject offered by CIHE, providing excellence in teaching and assessment practices for the benefit of all students
2. Plan, prepare and deliver educational activities that facilitate active learning experiences and student engagement
3. Assure learning, by developing and administering assessment tasks are valid, reliable and fair and take into consideration the needs and learning abilities of students
4. Encourage, monitor and evaluate the progression of individual students and assist with the academic counselling and referral to support services as required
5. Update all necessary student records accurately and completely in liaison with the administrative staff
6. Participate in academic staff meetings and continuing professional development programs, and provide advice and guidance to colleagues within areas of specialist expertise
7. Actively maintain and share professional knowledge and expertise through a program of relevant research and scholarly activity and industry practice to maintain a nexus between scholarship and the processes of learning and teaching at CHIE.
8. Participate as a team member in the development of new curriculum and applications for course accreditation and institutional re-accreditation.
9. Carry out administrative duties relating to the role of a Lecturer as required
10. Participate in promotional activities as directed by the Management of CIHE.

* Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to convey discipline-specific information effectively
* Ability to provide high-quality teaching and to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for students
* Knowledge of the principles of scholarly activity and a commitment to continuous professional development
* Knowledge of adult learning theory and methodologies
* Knowledge of curriculum content within a disciplinary area underpinning on of CIHE's courses and the relevant professional standards
* Ability to contribute to the development and review of CIHE's curriculum as required
* Ability to assess student performance, monitor academic progression, and to provide appropriate and timely feedback on student assessment
* Ability to maintain complete and accurate educational records
* Knowledge of workplace health and safety responsibilities and the ability to maintain a safe and secure learning environment for all stakeholders
* Skills in a range of administrative, coordination, and learning support activities.
Essential Requirements
PhD in Information Technology or a closely related discipline.
Australian PR or Citizenship (mandatory).
Demonstrated teaching experience in Australia's higher-education sector.
Expertise in AI, Software Engineering, and/or Cybersecurity.
