About the Role
As Senior Exploration Geologist, you will lead, plan and support exploration activities to ensure safe, structured and high-quality execution. You will apply strong technical expertise across mineral systems, drilling programs, data interpretation and project evaluations, while providing day-to-day leadership to geologists, field staff and contractors.
Your work will directly shape exploration strategy, target assessment and investment decisions across Greatland Gold's growing portfolio in the Paterson.
Roster: Will either be a 12/9 or 8/6 depending on role requirements - FIFO from Perth
Key Responsibilities
Champion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all site standards, procedures and statutory requirements.
Promote proactive risk management and ensure work is executed safely and efficiently.
Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching and mentoring to geologists and field teams.
Integrate, review and interpret geological, geochemical and geophysical datasets to generate targets and plan subsequent exploration programs.
Guide site-based teams in project evaluation, drill program design and execution.
Objectively assess project potential and rank targets based on geological and economic merit.
Manage heritage and environmental systems in the field to ensure staff and contractor compliance.
Manage field data to ensure accuracy and completeness and maintain a robust, high-quality geological database.
Collaborate with operational and technical stakeholders to plan and execute drilling programs and support other business units where required.
Contribute to departmental business plans, budgets and exploration schedules.
About You
A recognised tertiary qualification in Geology.
A minimum of 7 years' gold–copper mineral exploration experience, with strong capability in multi-element geochemistry, geophysical datasets and structural interpretation.
Statutory Supervisor certification (or ability to obtain).
Demonstrated experience leading drill programs and exploration teams.
Strong knowledge of mineral systems and geophysical/geochemical methods, including 3D geological interpretation.
Practical knowledge of current industry standards and legislative requirements relating to Indigenous land access, heritage survey processes, safety and environmental compliance.
The ability to apply scientific and critical thinking to geological data and effectively vector toward economic mineralisation.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in MS Office and industry software including Micromine, acQuire, QGIS and iOGas (or equivalent).
Valid manual driver's licence.
