Offer description

Aqua Analytics supports utilities' operational success in water loss management, active leakage control, and all aspects of technology-driven water network management projects.

Our solutions address the challenges water utilities and councils face around Australia and New Zealand, and we take great pride in delivering to an impeccable standard and exceeding performance measures. Our commitment to quality, health and safety, and the environment is genuine and guides our operations.

As a growing organisation, we are seeking an experienced NRW professional to lead the scoping, delivery, and reporting of water-loss consulting projects, and to play a central role in deploying and managing our AquaNRW digital platform across our client base.

This is a work-from-home role with flexibility in how and where you work. Ideally, you'll be based near one of our offices in Gold Coast, Melbourne, Perth, or Christchurch.

What We Are Looking For

* A dedicated NRW Project Consultant to lead consulting project delivery and manage AquaNRW platform deployments for utility clients
* Comprehensive knowledge and experience with water distribution networks and their daily operation (ideally 10+ years)
* Demonstrated experience in applying non-revenue water reduction principles and techniques. This includes IWA water balance methodology, ILI/UARL benchmarking, minimum night flow analysis and legitimate night use disaggregation, FAVAD/N1 pressure‐leakage analysis, component analysis of real losses, and economic level of leakage assessment (ideally 5+ years)
* Experience in DMA design, establishment, and performance assessment – you understand what it takes to go from a zone on a map to a functioning, monitored DMA
* Strong technical writing capability – not templates, but real proposals and reports that guide client decisions
* Exposure to the latest water network software platforms and strong GIS knowledge
* Hydraulic modelling experience (EPANET, WaterGEMS) and familiarity with field instrumentation concepts (flow loggers, pressure loggers, acoustic devices)
* Practical experience managing complex, multi‐faceted NRW projects and liaising with clients at both technical and executive levels
* A highly motivated, self‐directed individual willing to solve problems collaboratively with team members and clients
* Experience working for small, fast‐moving companies is highly regarded
* A Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline
* Experience with or strong aptitude for AI‐assisted workflows and large language model applications in a professional context. We operate an advanced technology stack that integrates AI across our consulting, field service, analysis, and reporting processes, and we expect this role to leverage these tools to deliver at a level beyond what traditional approaches allow

What You Will Do

* Lead the scoping, methodology design, and technical delivery of water loss consulting projects – DMA projects, integrity validation, water balance analysis, performance baselining, and strategic advisory
* Onboard and manage AquaNRW deployments – configure client environments, ingest and validate network data, build dashboards and reporting workflows, and ensure the platform is delivering ongoing value and network optimisation
* Develop proposals and client‐facing technical documents that are clear, well‐structured, and commercially sound
* Advise utility clients and councils on DMA sizing, boundary design, hydraulic model requirements, pressure management, and intervention prioritisation
* Provide ongoing technical support to AquaNRW clients – interpret outputs, troubleshoot, and translate data into action that drives efficiency
* Identify platform improvement opportunities and feed them into the AquaNRW development roadmap – you'll shape what the platform becomes
* Support the broader team during field delivery phases to ensure exceptional client outcomes
* Assist in the pursuit of new business and account expansion – identify adjacent opportunities within existing client relationships
* Enjoy the flexibility to work from anywhere. This is primarily an office‐based consulting role, and we will set you up with the tools and tech stack to work where you want, when you want (with opportunity to work in one of our offices as and when required)

What You Will Get

* The benefits that come with working in a small and flexible environment
* A company committed to doing the right thing, demonstrated by our continuing partnership with WaterAid
* Direct involvement in building and scaling AquaNRW – a platform changing how utilities and councils manage water loss without complexity
* Meaningful consulting work across a broad utility client base in Australia and New Zealand
* Access to the latest technology (both for doing your job and solving our customers' water challenges)
* Access to one of the most advanced technology stacks in the water loss sector – including AI‐augmented analysis and reporting workflows that give our small team the output capacity of firms ten times our size
* A gratifying role where you can contribute to solving real‐world problems each day
* Opportunity to grow your career with the business, take on more responsibility, and be rewarded for success

Conclusion

If you are looking for a change, want to undertake more meaningful work, and enjoy the flexibility and benefits of working in a small team, please apply today.

Candidates must be physically present and legally entitled to work in Australia or New Zealand.
