About Our Role
Operational based, logistics focused position
Monday to Friday roster, day work only – based on site at Simplot Ulverstone
Permanent full-time position
Due to internal growth opportunities, Simplot Global Food are seeking suitably experienced candidates for the full-time, permanent position of Logistics Assistant at our Ulverstone manufacturing facility.
Simplot Ulverstone has a proud history in the local community dating back to ****, and our location on the banks of the Leven River is ideally situated close to the rich, fertile soils where our potatoes are grown.
We process around 300,000 tonnes of potatoes from 165 Tasmanian growers each year, producing high-quality frozen potato products that are enjoyed by consumers throughout Australia.
Site capabilities / products include fries (coated & uncoated + different cuts), sweet potato fries, potato gems, and hash browns in addition to 8 × automated packing lines.
Reporting to the Logistics Manager, in this Monday to Friday position – the Logistics Assistant will undertake a mix of warehousing & desk-based tasks in support of both inbound and outbound finished goods, and associated ancillary tasks.
What You Will Do
Coordinate inbound and outbound goods (with carriers / transport vendors)
Incoming goods inspection & receipting, in addition to manifesting outbound goods (incl. use of PRMS & JDE systems)
Manage pallet control and processing of pallet movement documentation
Use a counterbalance forklift for transport / storing of incoming goods into Dexion racking
Undertake gap analysis on finished goods vs system quality holds
Cycle counting / stock-takes and the reconciliation of cyclic counts
Assist the Vendor Scheduler in identifying non-confirming goods
Communicate with both internal & external stakeholders via phone & email
About You
Possess a 100 % commitment to safety, health and wellbeing in the workplace
Hold a current High Risk (LF) forklift licence with extensive operating experience (role will include loading palletised goods into Dexion type racking)
Familiarity with forklift pre-start activities & battery changing
Warehousing experience within a manufacturing environment will be highly regarded
Competency in the use of MS Office suite of products
A high level of both written & verbal communication skills
Ability to liaise in a professional manner with a wide demographic
Be driven to engage in personal development
Willingness to undergo a pre-employment medical incl.
urine-based drug & alcohol screening
