Our client is seeking to engage a Facilities Coordinator.

Position Overview

The Facilities Coordinator will report to the Senior Director of Infrastructure and Capital Works:

* Oversee the implementation of planned and scheduled maintenance across all venues
* Coordinate and maintain the facilities, equipment and assets of Venues Canberra venues, including the requirements to:
* Coordinate the maintenance or repair of all equipment and facilities within the venues and complete maintenance or repairs when possible;
* Coordinate, liaise with and supervise contractors performing works within the venues;
* Keep tools and equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; and alerting Venue Managers for repairs.
* When required, update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications;
* Coordinate essential service connections (temporary and permanent);
* Assist when required to induct contractors and monitor Workplace Health & Safety conformance;
* Provide input to budget processes;
* Evaluate asset condition and performance;
* Supervise and manage the facilities staff including daily duties
* Assist the Senior Director and Venue Managers with capital works projects including;
* Deliver ACT Government process and reporting requirements;
* Scope projects, identify and prepare requirements and outcomes and coordinate delivery where required;
* Ensure regulatory and compliance requirements are met;
* Provide input to budgeting, monitoring and reporting.
* Assist the Venue Managers in maintaining the day to day operations of all facilities.
* Assist in the delivery of each facility for events, including an onsite presence prior to and during events.
* Perform event day operational roles as rostered
* Understand and work within the ACTPS Code of Conduct and ACTPS values of respect, integrity, collaboration and innovation, and model behaviour consistent with the ACTPS Respect Equity and Diversity framework.

What You Require

* Proven ability to;
- Coordinate facility maintenance with relevant or specific industry experience,
- Undertake manual work and
- Understand technical information.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and assess reactive and preventative maintenance and ground management requirements.
- Work within a team environment to achieve the goals of a high performing work unit; follow instructions and adhere to best practice standards.
- Demonstrated high level communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated high level organisational and time management skills including the ability to work autonomously.
- An understanding in managing a variety of contracts including goods and services and works.
- A thorough understanding of implementing risk management and workplace health and Safety systems.
- Understanding of public service values covering ethical standards and a demonstrated self-awareness, professionalism and a proven commitment to the ongoing integration of workplace respect, equity and diversity work practices and workplace health and safety principles and practices.

Compliance Requirements/Qualifications

* Essential:
o C Class Drivers License is essential.
o Experience in contract and contractor management.
o Experience in maintaining large facilities.
o Relevant project management experience.
o Ability to obtain white card, forklift, asbestos awareness and working at heights certification
o The ability to perform regular after hours, public holidays and weekend work in support of booked events.
* Desirable:
o Licensed Electrician
o Knowledge of the event industry and/or event industry experience
o Forklift operator licence
o White card, asbestos awareness, working at heights, confined spaces and first aid certification.
