About the Role
The Operating Theatre Assistant is a vital role that supports healthcare professionals in delivering exceptional patient care. As an Operating Theatre Assistant, you will be responsible for creating a safe and efficient environment for patients undergoing surgical procedures.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Assisting in the provision of a safe environment for all patients undergoing surgical procedures by adhering to best practice in infection control and workplace health and safety;
2. Assisting in the transportation of patients from various locations within the hospital, including beds and trolleys, as well as assisting with patient positioning;
3. Communicating effectively and regularly with other theatre staff to ensure seamless patient care;
4. Assisting in codes such as repositioning, collecting equipment, running bloods, ensuring equipment is set up, and tracking where required etc.
About You
To be successful in this position, you will require:
* Relevant qualification (not mandatory but highly regarded);
* Evidence of vaccination against Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and Hepatitis B;
* Tuberculosis screening to identify if tuberculosis vaccination may be required;
* Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed;
* Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees.

Salary: Casual, Base salary ranging from $40.63 - $42.58 per hour
