The mission of our client is to empower Aboriginal young people through vocational courses and workforce entry in manufacturing and related industries.
Key Responsibilities
* Closely work with employers, training organisations and industry partners.
* Help participants complete qualifications, succeed at work, and build meaningful careers.
In order to achieve this goal, we are looking for a dedicated Employment Mentor who can guide local Aboriginal apprentices, trainees, and learners as they navigate their careers.
We require someone with an understanding of the challenges facing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and youth, experience working with Aboriginal communities, and a results-driven track record in mentoring, employment/training services, recruitment or similar roles.
A strong relationship-building skills with employers and industry groups, ability to accurately record and report participant progress, and independent and team-oriented individual will also be considered.
Essential Criteria
* Understanding of challenges facing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and youth.
* Experience working with Aboriginal communities.
* Results-driven track record in mentoring, employment/training services, recruitment or similar roles.
* Strong relationship-building skills with employers and industry groups.
* Able to accurately record and report participant progress.
* Independent and team-oriented individual.
* Current Driver's Licence.
* Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
* National Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
* Qualifications and/or experience in Aboriginal Mentoring, Employment, Training, Education or a vocational/trade/industry background.
* Trauma-informed case work experience (highly regarded).
