Mechanical Engineer Position

About the Role
This position will involve designing, optimizing, and maintaining mechanical systems across a diverse agricultural operation encompassing broadacre cropping, livestock production, and emerging horticultural ventures. The successful candidate will apply engineering expertise to enhance the efficiency, sustainability, and reliability of farming infrastructure, machinery, and processing systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, design, and oversee the implementation of mechanical systems for crop processing, grain handling, irrigation networks, and livestock infrastructure.
* Develop innovative solutions to improve the efficiency of broadacre farming equipment, including seeders, harvesters, and soil preparation machinery.
* Contribute to the design of sustainable infrastructure for emerging horticultural and tree crop operations.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
* Minimum 2 years of post-qualification experience in mechanical design, project management, or agricultural systems.
* Proficiency in CAD software, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, and mechanical fabrication.
* Strong problem-solving abilities with attention to detail in design and implementation.
* Ability to convey technical concepts to non-engineers.
