The researcher will contribute to the scientific and technological development of the LOTUSIM-Energy simulator and its associated autonomy components.
Responsibilities
* Developing and integrating multi-physics simulation models for maritime, aerial, and underwater robots.
* Designing, implementing, and evaluating navigation, control, and mission planning algorithms.
* Studying multi-robot coordination and human-robot teaming strategies.
* Participating in the creation of realistic simulated environments based on environmental data.
* Defining evaluation protocols and performance metrics (safety, energy, mission efficiency).
* Contributing to scientific validation, writing publications, and disseminating results.
Activity
* Software development (C++/Python) in a ROS 2 environment and robotics simulators.
* Integration of simulated sensors (vision, sonar, LiDAR, inertial navigation).
* Implementation of guidance, control, and planning algorithms under environmental constraints.
* Implementation of distributed simulation architectures (client-server, remote computing).
* Analysis of simulation data and comparison of algorithmic solutions.
* Participation in scientific meetings, potential student supervision, and international collaboration.
Skills Scientific Skills
* Mobile or maritime robotics, automation, or autonomous systems.
* Dynamic modeling and physical simulation.
* Trajectory planning, navigation, or robot control.
* Interest in multi-agent systems and human-robot interaction.
Technical Skills
* Programming in C++ and/or Python.
* Proficiency in ROS/ROS 2 or equivalent robotics middleware.
* Experience with simulation environments (Gazebo, Unity, or similar).
* Scientific development tools (Linux, Git, experimental methods).
Desired Assets
* Experience in marine robotics, drones, or embedded systems.
* Knowledge of AI applied to perception or decision-making.
* Experience in real-time simulation or digital twins.
* Scientific publications or participation in collaborative projects.
