This senior role offers the opportunity to shapeservice delivery, build workforce capability, and strengthen partnerships thatimprove access and outcomes for CALD consumers and their families.
About the Opportunity
The Multicultural Mental HealthCoordinator provides high-level clinical services, leadership, and consultationwithin a dedicated consultation–liaison model. As part of the Mental HealthResource Team, you will support clinicians across the Townsville Mental HealthService Group to deliver culturally safe, evidence-based care for consumersexperiencing mental illness and/or problematic substance use.
This is a senior allied healthposition suited to an experienced psychologist with strong cross-culturalcapability, advanced clinical decision-making skills, and a passion forequitable mental health care.
Key Responsibilities
* Facilitateculturally responsive mental health and AOD care for CALD consumers andtheir families, aligned with national mental health standards andmulticultural frameworks.
* Deliverhigh-level clinical services including assessment, care planning,psychoeducation, group programs, and brief interventions.
* Applyadvanced cross-cultural communication skills, including effectivecollaboration with interpreters, bicultural workers, and cultural supportstaff.
* Provideexpert consultation, advice, and support to clinicians and managers toenhance culturally appropriate practice across THHS.
* Developstrategies that improve equitable access to mental health services forCALD communities and promote consumer and carer participation in serviceplanning.
* Leadand contribute to training and education initiatives that buildmulticultural capability across the workforce.
* Establishand maintain strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholdersto support integrated, accessible care.
* Collaboratewith multicultural mental health roles across Queensland to supportstatewide excellence in CALD service delivery.
* Participatein supervision, provide professional supervision to colleagues andstudents, and contribute to quality improvement and research activities.

What You'll Need
* Afour-year degree in Psychology (Honours, Graduate Diploma).
* Registration with the PsychologyBoard of Australia.
* A Masters or Doctoral degree inClinical Psychology or significant progress towards this would be highlyregarded.
