Iron Mine Contracting (IMC) was formed to provide Civil, Mining, Crushing and Screening and Indigenous partnering opportunities to the West Australian market. IMC and its associated indigenous Joint Venture partners have been delivering projects to Tier 1 Resource clients including Rio Tinto, Woodside Petroleum, Northern Star Resources, Fortescue, Roy Hill, Goldfields Australia, Liontown Resources and Newcrest Mining amongst others since 2013. With extensive experience working for clients in remote areas and a deep body of knowledge gained from its diverse multidisciplinary team, IMC understands the specific challenges that constructing and delivering for its Western Australian clients presents.
About Our Role Senior Civil Estimator reports directly to the Pre Contracts Manager and is responsible for compiling budget estimates for civil construction projects. This role supports the company’s Operational Plan and plays an active role in embedding our organisational values into the workforce.
What You Will Focus On
Prepare accurate cost estimates and bid documentation based on drawings, specifications, and tender requirements.
Analyse labour, equipment, and material needs for each project.
Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to gather pricing and technical input.
Maintain and update a centralised cost estimating database.
Ensure all tender submissions comply with company procedures and standards.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment between tender, construction, and project completion phases.
Assist civil operations in meeting tender deliverables and timelines.
Support the Pre Contracts Manager in promoting a proactive safety culture.
Ensure all estimating activities comply with relevant health and safety legislation and company policies.
Build strong relationships with internal departments, clients, subcontractors, and consultants.
Communicate effectively to gather input and share insights across teams.
Identify opportunities to improve estimating processes and tools.
Participate in team development and contribute to organisational growth.
What You’ll Bring
Civil Engineering qualifications.
Experience in a civil construction organisation, with a strong focus on estimating and/or scheduling.
Proficiency in estimating software systems, preferably Pronamics Expert Estimation.
Ability to perform technical evaluations and make purchasing recommendations.
Familiarity with applicable codes and standards.
Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and project database systems.
