Our Team

Our Operations team works with a diverse customer base to support several nationally significant supply chains. With management responsibility spanning across five states, our 8,500km rail network is used to transport bulk products, passenger and general freight, including steel and a vast array of consumer items such as groceries, electrical goods and other items for both import and export markets. The Operations teams work within several complex and challenging environments, including some of the busiest rail corridors in Australia to deliver safe, efficient and sustainable service delivery outcomes for its customers, stakeholders and the community.

About The Opportunity

Support maintenance and project teams by enabling effective maintenance and informed decision‐making in the management of civil assets. This includes monitoring asset performance and condition, identifying opportunities to improve maintenance strategies, and providing input for the development of the Annual Works Plan.

Responsibilities

* Protect ARTC's interests by ensuring safety and commercial considerations are consistently upheld.
* Maintain high standards of track and infrastructure, keeping them always fit for purpose.
* Ensure field works compliance with ARTC policies, procedures, and operational standards.
* Adhere to mandatory systems and processes, ensuring all regulatory and organisational requirements are met.
* Ensure compliance with ARTC's systems, fulfilling all responsibilities and accountabilities.
* Promote a proactive safety culture within the team, aligning with current Work Health & Safety and rail safety legislation.
* As part of the application process, you'll be required to undergo pre‐employment criminal history, reference, and medical checks, including drug and alcohol testing.

Qualifications

* Relevant engineering qualification (Civil/Track/Structural) and experience in rail infrastructure or heavy civil projects.
* Strong knowledge of track maintenance, renewals, and asset management.
* Proven ability to apply engineering judgement to risk management, defect resolution, and continuous improvement.
* Commitment to safety, compliance, and creating a supportive team environment.
