About the Opportunity We're seeking a WHS & RRTW Co-ordinator to join our Team. Here at the Woodman Group, we're passionate about workers going home in the same condition they arrived at work! The position plays an important role in the delivery of Safety Management System documentation that is understandable and meets legislative needs. The role will also have opportunities in various WHS activities, including investigations, audits and inspections etc. This position reports to the Executive Director.
Key Deliverables of the position: Development, implementation, maintenance, monitoring and review of the Safety Management System (SMS). The role will assist in driving continuous improvement of SMS and support the business to achieve compliance against the Company Policies, applicable Acts, legislation, regulations and codes of practice.Proactively consult and provide specialist advice with workers at all levels on SMS documentation with a view for best solution based outcomes (including risk assessments, safe work method statements, safe work instructions, safe operating instructions, and other supporting documentation), and incorporate feedback where appropriate to ensure the system remains relevant and compliant.Conduct audits and inspections and participate in incident investigations to ensure ongoing compliance with the SMS, produce reports on resultant outcomes with recommendations for corrective actions and proactively use these as opportunities to improve and further develop the system.Proactively review the SMS to identify gaps or lack of understanding by workers, conduct research on new or changed legislation, industry best practice or other relevant requirements, and incorporate these into the SMS.Manage the rehabilitation of injured workers.Manage all aspects of Workcover.Manage alarm system, security patrols, and security cameras.Manage first aid supplies.Assist management with HR issues.Ensure WHS records and data are maintained and always up-to-date.Undertake site visits, and attend safety meetings.About You We're seeking an effective communicator with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships. The successful candidate will have a minimum Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (or demonstrated equivalent experience and knowledge), RTW qualifications and Fire Safety Adviser qualifications as well as having a genuine passion for the health, safety and wellbeing of others. You will be able to work well in a team environment, support others, and be flexible in your approach to work. Advanced Microsoft Office and writing skills are essential.
