The Tactical Skills Training Officer plays a key role in delivering high-quality tactical training to correctional staff. This role is essential for maintaining the standards, compliance, and consistency of our tactical skills programs across QCS.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Design and deliver tactical skills training programs
- Set instructional standards for consistent tactical skills training across QCS
- Develop performance criteria for course competency in tactical skills
- Review and report on training/assessment procedures for updates
- Engage with stakeholders to ensure staff receive best-practice training
- Validate tactical skills training tools per departmental policies
- Use evaluation feedback to improve the training curriculum
- Support high standards by training and developing Tactical Skills Instructors
- Evaluate and guide centre-based tactical skills instructors
- Consult with stakeholders to ensure continuous improvement
- Coordinate a training calendar with centre management for compliance
