Program Officer - Psychological Health
* $137,963 per annum + 12% superannuation
* Full time, fixed term opportunity until January 2027
* Wadawurrung Country /Geelong based role (hybrid work from home - 3 days a week in office)
About the opportunity
This is an exciting fixed term opportunity to be part of the Psychological Health Strategy, Enablement team contributing to innovative projects that have an important impact on psychosocial health and safety within high risk industries. Sitting within the new Psychological Health division in the Health and Safety Business Unit, the Program Officer - Psychological Health will form part of a flexible resource pool that work under the direction of the Program Manager within a small team of other Program Officers.
The Program Officer - Psychological Health supports the development and implementation of prevention initiatives and projects, including the development of supporting procedure and resources, and drives acceptance across a number of internal and external stakeholder groups. This role will play a key role in programs relating to Psychological Health and driving positive change across Victorian workplaces.
Key accountabilities will include:
* Work collaboratively within the Psychological Health division and across WorkSafe to lead the scoping, design and development of projects, including working with external consultants and external partners
* Facilitate consultation, meetings or workshops using co-design principles and practices.
* Develop and deliver projects in line with WorkSafe's prevention initiative lifecycle, including program logic, project planning, milestones and accountability.
* Analyse data, research and insights to inform project scoping, decision-making and evidence-based recommendations.
* Undertake work identified in project plans and co-ordinate with other WorkSafe teams to deliver agreed projects and tracking progress.
* Work with internal and external stakeholders to develop evidence based resources and tools that prevent mental injury and promote psychological health for Victorian workplaces.
* Bring together expertise and knowledge to translate evidence into practical and tangible information for Victorian workplaces to prevent mental injury and promote psychological health.

About you
You are an experienced Program Officer who wants to make a difference and has a genuine interest in psychological health. You understand prevention and behaviour change methodology. Your written communication skills and ability to establish relationships with both internal and external stakeholders are outstanding.
You will also possess:
* You possess technical expertise and knowledge of psychosocial hazards, risk management and controls to achieve OHS outcomes to meet WorkSafe objectives.
* An understanding of the legal, policy and the operational environment of WorkSafe Victoria
* Experience with interpreting legislative and policy change
* You also have either a qualification or experience in a related discipline (e.g. health promotion, OHS, health sciences)
* You have a proven ability to liaise in a professional manner with a diverse stakeholder group including senior management, employer groups, unions, external and internal stakeholders
* You are skilled in policy analysis, producing comprehensive briefs and performing thorough document reviews, as well as experience writing and creating various resources
* Finally, you have experience in dealing with and managing change and communicating change messages
