Position description
We're seeking an enthusiastic Laboratory Manager to join the Tamworth laboratories. Reporting directly to the Regional Manager, you will be an essential leader and your responsibilities will include the following :
Overseeing the daily operations of the laboratory and delivering exceptional patient care in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Operating in a multi-skilled capacity on multiple disciplines, including Haematology, Transfusion, Coagulation, Biochemistry and Microbiology areas.
Taking charge of staff schedules and mentoring staff to ensure highest level of performance.
Collaborating with key stakeholders, such as pathologists and managers, to ensure compliance of internal policies and procedures.
Networking with clients to positively promote our company and continuously strengthen stakeholder relationships.
Ideal candidate
We are looking for the following :
Graduate with a Medical Science degree or recognised AIMS equivalent
Minimum two years' experience as a senior scientist in a healthcare pathology capacity. Prior scientific experience in a hospital laboratory would be highly regarded.
Technical competency in Haematology (including blood film morphology), Coagulation, Biochemistry and Blood Bank (including emergency transfusion protocols) and Microbiology
Demonstrated in-depth understanding of the pathology industry, proficiency in clinical department processes and a strong focus on attention to detail
Highly knowledgeable in Work Health Safety procedures, Quality systems and ANZSBT, NPAAC and NATA requirements
Strong computer literacy, notably in MS Office and Laboratory Information System
A passion for leading a team and the ability to deliver multiple conflicting outcomes in a timely manner
