About the Role
The First Nations Communities Trust Associate supports Trust Managers to administer First Nations community trust arrangements with care, integrity and respect. In this 12-month contract, the focus is on building strong, trusted relationships and ensuring trusts are managed in line with legislative requirements while delivering meaningful outcomes for Traditional Owner communities. You will work with internal teams, community representatives on country and external partners to support day-to-day administration of trusts and contribute to Perpetual's ongoing commitment to working alongside First Nations communities.
Responsibilities
* Build and maintain strong, respectful relationships with First Nations communities, partners and external stakeholders.
* Support the administration of Native Title and community trusts in line with legislation, company policies and governance frameworks, including payment processing, reporting and compliance activities.
* Assist with preparation for and participation in Trustee Advisory Council meetings, beneficiary meetings and community communications.
* Support Trust Managers in working with Executive Offices, Advisory Councils and Co-Trustee arrangements.
* Develop an understanding of the needs, priorities and circumstances of Traditional Owner communities to ensure trust arrangements are managed for their long-term benefit.
* Provide operational support to internal stakeholders, including assisting with Native Title service requests and workflow management.
Qualifications / About You
* At least two years' experience in a relevant area such as administration, customer service, an Aboriginal Corporation, or a not-for-profit or community-focused organisation.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage respectfully with a range of stakeholders.
* Available to travel on country.
* Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive, trust-based relationships.
* Good organisational and time-management skills with attention to detail.
* A collaborative approach and willingness to learn.
