Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer – Townsville based position
Chrisair Maintenance is seeking a motivated and experienced Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME) to join our team in Townsville. This role is ideal for someone who values independence in their work, but also wants the backing and support of an experienced Chief Engineer and team in Mackay.
About the Role
You'll be the lead engineer for an established and thriving charter and flight training company, which continues to grow its services across North Queensland. Chrisair has been proudly supporting this client for over five years, ensuring a strong, stable partnership and a secure role for the right candidate.
In this dynamic role, you will handle scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, respond to breakdowns, and ensure aircraft readiness is aligned with a demanding flight schedule.
We're Looking For Someone Who:
* Enjoys working independently, with sound technical judgement
* Appreciates a Monday-to-Friday roster that supports work–life balance
* Understands the operational requirements of a busy charter and training company, and can plan and communicate maintenance activities effectively to ensure work is carried out on time, with minimal disruption to flying schedules
* Builds strong professional relationships, working closely with the local Operations Manager and drawing on the support of the Chief Engineer in Mackay, ensuring the fleet is kept safe, compliant, and flying to meet a demanding schedule
* Has experience with piston and light twin-engine aircraft such as the Cessna 172S, C182, Piper PA-34 Seneca V, and PA-31 Navajo
This position offers autonomy day-to-day, while ensuring you're never on your own thanks to the backing of Chrisair's established Mackay base.
About You
* CASA Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (B1 and/or B2)
* Experience with piston and light twin-engine aircraft desirable
* Strong troubleshooting, planning, and organisational skills
* Self-motivated, organised, and reliable
* Excellent communicator who thrives in a collaborative environment
