Job Role:
Mental health support workers deliver person-centred, safe and goal-oriented care to clients. This role demands a high level of objectivity, integrity and compassion.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supporting clients to enhance their community living skills, independence, personal growth and development through the provision of active support
* Fostering opportunities for social networks and engagement in community activities
* Building rapport with clients to understand their needs, identify challenges and develop effective solutions
* Providing prompting and encouragement for clients in relation to activities of daily living, including direct personal care when required
* Collaborating with clients to develop goals and support plans in partnership with relevant stakeholders
* Monitoring and maintaining progress notes and other documentation in accordance with NDIS and funding body requirements
* Utilising technology as required to complete documentation, access client files and other resources
Requirements:
* Certificate IV in Mental Health or similar qualification desirable
* Ability to engage positively, interact and work effectively with individuals who have complex needs
* Sensitivity to work with people from diverse cultural backgrounds and willingness to learn and work in culturally appropriate approaches
* Computer literacy and administration skills
* Current driver's license
* Current First Aid & CPR certificate
* NDIS Worker Screening check
